I make fine, custom, hand-planed bamboo fly rods that will increase your enjoyment of time spent on the stream.  If you are looking for a strong bamboo rod that will handle the winds of Western waters or  a sweet-casting rod that will help you fool those cagey spring creek browns, you have found the right place!  

Our experience has shown that nothing can top the “feel” of  a fine bamboo rod while playing fish.  And  bamboo is well know for its ability to present flies delicately.  We know that a well- made bamboo fly rod, being  constructed of natural materials, really comes alive when casting , fishing or playing fish.  Bamboo transmits what’s going on at the end of the line straight to you hand  with unrivalled sensitivity! 

My goal is create a bamboo fly rod for you that will  help you be a better  fly fisher.  Together, we will determine which rod taper will fit your casting style & fishing situation.  Then,  you will choose from the various options available to create a fly rod that uniquely, personally yours.   

All rods are made “from scratch” in my shop  in southwest Wisconsin and are built to last several lifetimes.  All components which make up the rod are of the highest quality.   I use only the best Tonkin cane, which is hand-selected especially for your fly rod.  Guides and ferrules are wrapped with the finest Pearsall’s Royal Hunt & Black silk, unless otherwise specified.   The rod is finished with multiple coats of spar vanish.  Each rod is furnished with two tip sections.  To complete and protect the rod,  a khaki cotton rod bag  and a brass-capped rod case is supplied.
